TABLES FOR THE TRANSFORMATION BETWEEN THE LABORATORY AND CENTER-OF-MASS COORDINATE SYSTEMS AND FOR THE CALCULATION OF THE ENERGIES OF REACTION PRODUCTS

From a theoretical standpoint the most meaningful representation of angular distribution data is in the center-of-mass coordinate system. The following tables have been prepared to facilitate the transformation of such data between the laboratory and center-of-mass systems. In this respect, these tables represent an extension of tables calculated previously1 by making available more entries and thus reducing the necessity for interpolation. In addition, an as¬sociated table has been included which makes possible the calculation with relative ease of the energy of a nuclear reaction product as a function of the angle of observation in the labo¬ratory system.
