摘要

The purpose of this investigation was to determine the vapor-liquid equilibria in the binary system consisting of bromine pentafluoride and uranium hexafluoride. Data on vapor-liquid equilibria have both a funda¬mental and applied significance. From the standpoint of physical chem¬istry, the data give insight into molecular interactions in the solution as evidenced by the degree of non-ideal behavior. From the chemical engineering point of view, the data give rise to the x-y curves which form the basis for determining the number of theoretical plates or trans¬fer units in the design of a distillation column to separate the components.nThe class of compounds known as interhalogens, of which bromine penta¬fluoride is a member, has only quite recently begun to be investigated in a systematic manner.
