The Proceedings were published in three parts for the purpose, aside from the avoidance of the excessive bulk of a single volume, of making sections dealing with specific subjects available to persons who may be primarily interested in a par¬ticular topic. Part 1 is devoted to specific applications of diverse methods of chemi¬cal analysis, and Part 2 is comprised of those papers which deal with instrumenta¬tion, remote control techniques, and nucleonics. Eight papers concerned with the determination of particle size and abstracts of three others on the same subject appear in Part 3.nAll the papers were edited to some extent for the purpose, in many cases, of converting oral presentations to a form more suitable for publication. The editors must, therefore, assume full responsibility for all errors or omissions.
