Since last presented in Report SL-1773, dated April 28, 1960, both the 200 and 300 MWe boiling D20 direct cycle plant designs prepared by Sergeant Lundy and NDA have undergone design revisions which substantially affect their power costs. Principally, these revisions have resulted from incorporating improvements that were originally made for the 70 MWe direct cycle prototype plant, into the full-scale plant designs.nThe results of other studies conducted by Sergeant & Lundy which relate directly to heavy water moderated reactors, particularly to those cooled by boiling D20, are summarized below. These investigations were concerned with D20 equipment component leakage, power plant construction materials and plant arrangements.
