摘要

A post-irradiation dimensional inspection of partially expended FWR-1 fuel components has been completed. The components investigated were removed from service at the end of the first seed life (5806 Effective Full Power Hours). A comparison of pre-irradiation and post-irradiation measurements indicates that no significant dimensional changes have resulted from operation through Seed 1 life. This investigation verified the adequacy of design assumptions and pre-irradiation testing with respect to dimensional stability. It also provides a basis for predicting the continued serviceability of blanket fuel from the standpoint of dimensional stability.
