Basically, the BONUS reactor plant will serve to prove the technical feasibility and to provide information on the economic potential of an integral nuclear superheat reactor. The information to be obtained from the construction and successful operation of the BONUS plant is basic to the design and operation of nuclear superheat reactors of all sizes and of various types, including the integral superheater concept, the separate superheater concept, and the pressure tube integral superheater concept.
