THE DIFFERENTIAL SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF PLUTONIUM IN ROUTINE USE

The determination of plutonium by differential spectrophotometry using the plutonium-III colour is presented from the point of view of its suitability for use as a routine method of analysis. The range of plutonium concentration to which the method is applicable has been defined as 1.5 to 14.0 mg/ml. The accuracy and precision of results obtained have been shown to be comparable with accepted gravimetric and volumetric techniques.
