SINGLE PRESSURE STEAM CYCLE ANALYSIS

This Report describes the method of calculation of the efficiency of a single pressure steam cycle, which has been programmed on the Mercury and the IBM 704 computers at Risley. The computer programme is intended for use during parametric surveys of complete power-reactor systems. Consequently, the variables which are fed into the steam-cycle programme include reactor coolant temperatures and pinch-point temperature differences, in addition to quantities directly associated with the cycle, such as the steam conditions after expansion in the turbine.
