Analytical Method for THE RAPID ESTIMATION OF URANIUM IN URINE USING THE TYPE I080A FLUORIMETER

The inorganic residue remaining after the evaporation and ignition of 1 ml urine is fused with a sodium-fluoride/sodium bicarbonate fusion mixture. The fluorescence of melt is measured in a type 1080A fluorimeter and the uranium content is assessed by applying a factor which has been obtained from a calibration using external standards (Method 1) or from the readings obtained by the addition of an internal standard to the sample (Method 2).
