1 This report presents a method of evaluating test effects upon relays through the analysis of their transient response by means of generalized operate and release curves. The curves are developed and units of measure discussed. Effects of circuit parameters, manufacturing tolerances, and stability of adjustment are examined in terms of the generalized curves. Measurements of the significant relay variables are discussed and suggestions offered for the computation of data.
