THE SEPARATION OF FLUORIDE IONS BY MEANS OF ION EXCHANGE RESINS

Although there are many methods of quantitative determination of fluorine ion, these methods are disturbed considerably by the presence of other ions;therefore, it is distilled and separated as fluoro-silicic acid by Willard-Winter method. Separation of F- from disturbing ions by use of anion exchange resin has been attempted. A strongly basic ion exchange resin (OH-type) is used for absorption of F" and disturbing ions, the F- is liberated by treating it with N/10 NaOh, leaving the other disturbing ions in the resin. Necessary procedures of the method are given.
