A photoelectric Raman apparatus assembled at the laboratory is de¬scribed. Noteworthy features include the type of monochromator used, the specially designed optical arrangement, and the versatility of the instrument. Samples in the liquid and solid states can be investigated at temperatures ranging from about +150°C to -195°C. A number of spectra are given to demonstrate the performance of the instrument.
