STUDY OF CONVENTIONAL PROCESS STEAM PLANTS CAPITAL AND STEAM PRODUCTION COSTS 125,000 POUNDS PER HOUR (40 MWT)

The objective of this study is to determine the estimated capital and production costs of typical conventional fuel fired steam generating plants for industrial process applications, with a net rated output of 125,000 pounds per hour (4O mwt), for comparison with the costs of nuclear reactor steam generating plants of similar size. It was stipulated by the United States Atomic Energy Com¬mission that the prescribed "Ground Rules for Evaluating Process Reactors" be adhered to wherever applicable.
