A METHOD FOR PREDICTING MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES IN WEAPONS DURING STORAGE

An analytical method is presented for predicting the temperature-time response of a weapon in outdoor storage to environmental heat inputs. The effects of solar heating, convection, and radiation are included. The boundary conditions for desert storage are stipulated and compared with the recommendations of "Climatic Extremes for Military Equipment" (MIL STD 210A).
