Data from an experimental study on the effect of surface roughness on the heat transfer of horizontal cylinders during natural convection to air is presented in this work. It has been discovered that within a specified interval of the value criterion for (Gr Pr)/sub md/ the convective heat transfer for rough tubes was approximately 1.5 to 1.9 times greater than for smooth tubes.
