GRAFT POLYMERIZATION OF POLYETHYLENE BY γ-RAY

摘要

In y-ray graft polymerization of polyethylene with styrene or acrylonitrile (henceforth referred to as AN), we have investigated the grafting reaction and the properties of graft copolymers. We have used two techniques in the graft polymerization:the immersion technique, and the vapor phase technique in which films are irradiated in saturated vapor of monomer. The results of these two different processes have been compared. Then, we have carried out the styrene graft polymerization in which a small quantity of divinely benzene (henceforth referred to as DVB) added to styrene, and have researched crosslinking effects of DVB on the basis of gel content and mechanical properties of graft copolymer.
