摘要

The primary purpose of this paper is to introduce into "boiling heat transfer certain basic ideas from which several critical conditions are derived and an equation of the maximum heat flux in nuclear boiling is obtained. The heat transfer in nucleate boiling is considered as being limited by the maximum rate of bubble generation from a unit area of the heating surface. When the bubble is large, such as in low or no-forced convection boiling, the problem is considered as one of stability for a bubble moving in an inviscid but turbulent liquid, which is governed by a critical value of Weber number.
