摘要

An important safety feature of the BONUS reactor design is the small calculated change in reactivity (+ 0.2%) which would occur if all the superheater fuel assemblies were instantaneously flooded at operating conditions. In addition, flooding of the superheater is delayed such that the rate of adding this reactivity cannot be fast.nExperimental data have been obtained from an atmospheric-pressure test on a simulated BONUS superheater fuel subassembly which verifies the important "flooding-delay" expected in the BONUS superheater fuel assemblies.
