THE DETERMINATION OF RADIOACTIVITY DUE TO CAESIUM, STRONTIUM, BARIUM AND CERIUM IN WATERS

Methods are described for the determination of 89Sr, 90Sr, 137Cs, 140Ba, 141Ce and 144Ce in rain and tapwaters. Low background counting equipment is used in this work, and the lower limit of detection of any of the radio¬nuclides is about 1 µµc. The methods incorporate the various improvements that have been introduced since the previous report (A.E.R.E.-R 2899) in this series was produced.
