Labelled fluoroborates were shown to be more efficacious than other tracers (F- , F- plus Y+ , I- fluorfluorescin, Na3AsO 4, and Cu verserate) for the detection of disturbances in the blood brain barrier. It gives the highest blood/brain ratio of relative activity and it disappears rapidly from the blood and is excreted almost entirely through the kidneys.
