Although extensive research has so far been made concerning the transformation between uranouranic oxide and uranium dioxide in the aspect of crystal system, nothing has been clarified about the chemical reactivity of uranouranic oxide except that BRUCE and others stated that such reactivity differs considerably depending upon the1 method of preparation(8)'. Also, with regard to the effect of impurities on reactivity, only VAUGHAN and (9) others made reference to the effect of nitrogen content on the hydration reaction of uranium trioxide.
