CONTROL OF SMALL RADIOACTIVE SOURCES BASED ON MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE INTAKE OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS FROM SINGLE ACUTE EXPOSURES

For radiation-control purposes a source is defined in terms of MPI (maximum permissible intake for a single acute exposure). This report contains the results of a calculation of MPI using the latest-known biological data and the currently acceptable levels of internal exposure. The minimum values of Category A Sources (100 MPI's) for the isotopes for which biological and physical data are available are also tabulated.
