The tests and experimental facilities used in out-of-pile corrosion-erosion evaluations of materials at various contractor sites were described.nDynamic and static corrosion tests of 316L stainless steel tubing in superheated steam were completed September 5, 1962, at AllisChalmers. Shallow cracking due to locally impure alloy was observed in a stagnant steam environment. Some local intergranular corrosion was noted in the nonheated section. Final evaluation of the test results has not been completed.
