The scope of the Conference embraced the broad topics of nuclear, thermal, and mechani¬cal design;materials evaluation and selection;component fabrication and assembly;nonde¬structive testing and inspection;radiation damage;corrosion performance;and some economi¬cal aspects. A total of 36 technical papers was presented-2 from Belgium, 1 from Canada, 1 from Switzerland, 1 from France, and 31 from the United States. Many of the United States papers dealt with the new generation of research reactors now under design and construction.
