THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF FLUORINE-18 LABELLED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS

The production of fluorine-18 labelled organic compounds prepared from F18 fluoride ions by synthetic methods and that of compounds labelled by F18 produced in situ by the O16(H3,n) and F19(n,2n) nuclear proces¬ses are compared. The advantages of each method are evaluated and the potential application of labelled organic fluoroderivatives in biological studies is discussed.
