ESTIMATION OF ACCIDENT PROBABILITY DUE TO PROTECTIVE SYSTEM FAILURE IN POWER REACTORS

摘要

The probability of failure of any protective system can be reduced to an acceptable level by the application of redundancy combined with a suitable periodicity of proof testing. This paper estimates the probability of failure of each part of some typical protective systems in terms of the equipment failure rate, the periodicity of proof testing, the protective logic adopted and the frequency with which the incidents arise.
