Design Bases - N-Reactor Conversion to Phase II Dual Purpose Operation

The design of power generating facilities for the N-reactor requires design bases in addition of those already in existence. These bases establish the N-reactor performance data to be used for conversion design and the requirements for the design of the reactor plant modifications and the generating plant insofar as they affect the operability and safety of the reactor plant. Primarily these requirements center about the steam conditions which may be expected and the interrelations between the operation of the reactor and the power generating facilities. The items subsequently stated operational requirements and equipment performance which may be used as bases for Phase II design. Phase III expected steam conditions as a function of reactor power level are stated so that they too may be used as needed for Phase II design. (ERA citation 09:047829)
