摘要

A major objective of the nuclear fuel-cycle parametric study is the economic optimization of over-all unit power costs for the reference-design nuclear reactor by parametric variation about the reference design, consistent with specific ground rules. The parameters considered in this study are of two types:(1) core-physics dependent, resulting from various fuel-management schemes;and (2) core-physics independent, relating to various modes of plant operation. The present work demonstrates the economic interplay between these independent and dependent variables, and defines the specific economic incentives attributable to fuel management in conjunction with deviations from the reference design.
