The construction of the flying spot digitizer is nearly complete. Digitization of a single frame of film using only one set of parallel flying spot scan lines (i.e., "sweep") has been performed. Points scanned on 35-mm film containing a straight line were found to have an average deviation of 10 microns (μ.) from the best line through the points.
