ANALYTICAL METHOD THE SPECTROGRAPHIC ANALYSIS OOP URANIUM AND URANIUM COMPOUNDS BY THE CARRIER DISTILLATION TECHNIQUE

The sample in the form of black uranium oxide is mixed with a ‘carrier’, placed in a cupped graphite electrode and the spectra of the impurity lines excited in a d.c are at 10 or 12 amp aligned with a spectrograph of large dis¬persion. Sample spectra are compared visually with standard spectra, calibration being effected by the inclusion of a standard on the sample plate as density monitor.
