摘要

A recently developed general analysis is applied to discuss the bowing characteristics of 40 in. long fuel pins.nValues for maximum bow and loads upon the anti-bowing grids and end support plates are found for the elastic period at the beginning of "in-pile" life and after stresses have relaxed. The bow imparted to the pin if the deformation is completely plastic is also calcu¬lated.nFinally the shapes of the pin on withdrawal from the temperature field and also from the anti-bowing grids are determined.
