摘要

Certain plasma physics experiments require ultra-low inductance capacitor banks to provide power for fast-rising magnetic fields. This paper describes the design of a switch header integrated with a new capacitor which minimizes the inductance. The assembly of the 5-μF, 25-kV capacitor and the mating size A ignitron has an inductance of 0.04 μH, which is a factor of 4 less than a previous design. This system can deliver 155 kA in 0.75 μ.sec. Applications and operating experience are presented.
