The crucial point of the arrangement is the coupling link between resonator and final tube. Three requirements have to be met: i) to realize the required bandwidth with minimum r.f. power installation;ii) to increase the (generally) low impedance of the resonator;and iii) to keep the power tube sufficiently far from the machine, where high stray magnetic field and radiation hazard may exist. This last requirement can be met by means of a transmission line.
