THE USE OF THE CURRENT FLUCTUATIONS FROM AnNEUTRON DETECTOR WITH LOGARITHMIC AMPLIFIERS AS A MEASURE OF NEUTRON FLUX LEVELS

Neutron flux is commonly measured with a mean current instrument at high flux levels and with pulse counting equipment at the lower flux levels.nAn alternative approach uses the statistical fluctuations of the current from an ionisation chamber as a measure of neutron flux. A system of this type is described and it is shown that the system possesses some important advantages over conventional methods.
