摘要

An analysis of kinetic gas theory and absolute rate theory with regard to decomposition vaporization reactions has been made. The enthalpy of sublimation of gold was measured to substantiate the accuracy of the balance-furnace system in subsequent Knudsen- Langmuir studies. The value obtained, 88.3 ± 0.4 kcal/mole, was comparable to the presently accepted value, 87.3 ± 0.3 kcal/mole.
