摘要

Integration of the Gibbs-Duhem equation using Newton's interpolation formulae has been programmed in Fortran for both smoothed and unsmooth-ed activity coefficient data of binary systems, giving values of the second activity coefficient as a function of concentration. The conventional area test has also been programmed to test the thermodynamic consistency when both activity coefficients have been independently determined. The Gibbs-Duhem equation is additionally used with numerically differentiated values of the log activity coefficient-concentration curves to indicate local con¬sistency of the data. The programs and examples of their application are included.
