The permeability and diffusion of hydrogen and deuterium through EN58B steel have been investigated.nPH - 0.463 exp (16000 + 200/RT) std ml cm-2 mm s-1 atm-0.5 DH (2.1 + 0.9)10-3 exp (11000 + 1200/RT) cm2 s-1.nThere is no significant isotope effect on the diffusion coefficient but hydrogen permeates 1.4 times more rapidly than deuterium.
