Users of sheathed thermocouple material should consequently check a manufacturer's product carefully if flexibility is desired or required.nAlso done was the inspection of metal-sheathed thermocouple material from seven manufacturers for possible damage during the manufacturing process. It was concluded that if the prospective user of metal-sheathed thermocouple material cannot tolerate damage to the wires and/or sheath nonuniformity and hardness, he must sample and inspect the material during both production and preproduction runs.
