摘要

The d.c. plasma jet has been found to have advantages over conventional flame photometry and atomic absorption spectrophotometry in that it is free from the matrix effects which cause suppression of the spectra of calcium and strontium in the presence of phosphate and aluminium.nThe coefficients of variation for the determination of calcium and strontium in tissues, urine, milk and vegetation are 3% whilst calcium can be determined in aluminium-containing rocks and ores with a coefficient of variation of 4%.nAqueous solutions of a calcium or strontium salt are used for standardisa-tion and the source is so stable that no internal standard is required.
