The Systems for Nuclear Auxiliary Power (SNAP) are nuclear reactors designed to provide electrical power on space vehicles. Components were successfully developed to operate under the extreme radiation, temperature, and space environments of the SNAP 10A reactor.nThis report summarizes in three volumes the design, develop ment, and test of components used on the SNAP 10A for control, safety, operational diagnosis, and radiation shielding. The report also includes a summary of efforts for development of a ground test attachment assembly and discusses various materials and process problems pertinent to the program.
