PERCUTANEOUS ABSORPTION OF 35S-LABELED SODIUM DODECYL -BENZENE-SULFONATE (AN ANIONIC DETERGENT) IN RABBITS

Percutaneous absorption of DB35S in rabbits has been established by determining mode of DBS excretion in the urine and direct radioactivity counting at the site of application in rabbits given the labeled DBS topically. Distribution of the labeled DBS in the cutis at the site of topical application was also examined by counting radioactivity in horizontal frozen sections and microautoradiography of vertical sections of the skin. Results thus obtained are as follows.n1) Percutaneous absorption of the labeled DBS has been established by exami¬nation on the mode of DBS excretion in the urine as well as direct counting of radioactivity in the site of application.
