THEORY OF ROSSI-α EXPERIMENT IN REACTOR NOISE ANALYSIS

The disagreement between the Rossi-a formula and the conditional count probability, observed by several authors in measurements with a multichannel time analyzer, is explained. It is shown, that the Rossi-a experiments currently performed are of two distinct types, giving different results:the first one is based on measurements of delayed coincidences (Or doff), the second one employs a multichannel time analyzer, as described in the paper.nOn the basis of Kolmogorov general theory of chain processes, a formula for the second type experiment is derived, which is in good agreement with measurements.
