In the dynamic separation of recoiling species during reactor irradiation of trioxalatochromium ion on an ion-exchange resin, the effects of flow rate and of mesh size of resin upon the separable, yield were studied for the condition of pH 2 ~ 4 by nitric, acetic, and oxalic acids as eluent. It was found that about 4 ml per minutes per 10 ml resin was the optimum flow rate to obtain the maximum yield. The separable yield increased with the decreasing bead radius of resin and this dependence was analyzed theo¬retically by assuming a simple model, from which the initial yield and the recombination rate constant vs. mobility ratio of the separable species in the bead were estimated for each irradiation condition.
