As part of the Large Sodium Graphite Reactor (LSGR) Development Program, uranium carbide fuels have been subjected to considerable study at Atomics International over the past several years. One phase of this work concerned itself with the study of the in-pile performance of hypostoichiometric uranium carbide. This report deals with the results of in-pile tests conducted to date for temperature, burnup, power conditions, and UC fuel compositions consistent with LSGR program requirements.
