摘要

As expected, both weld metals age embrittle (lose ductility) with exposure to temperatures of 1000 to 1600 °F. This age embrittlement of the weld metals goes through a cycle where the aging has its maximum effen on ductility and then overaging results in recovery of ductility,nBoth weld metals reach similar minimum room temperature ductilities approximately 2%. The aging is more sluggish in Hastelloy W than in Hasteiioy X. Hastelloy W reaches its minimum rcem temperature ductility when aged 500 hr at 1400 °F, while Hasteiioy X reaches it when aged 500 hr at 1200 °F,
