AN IMPROVED METHOD OF QUANTITATIVE AUTORADIOGRAPHY FOR INDUSTRIAL PURPOSES

The purpose of this work is to develop a simple method to get quanti¬tative measurements from the autoradiography. A method has been set up that requires the exposure at the same time and with the same photographic emulsion of standards of radioactivity and of the sample under examination, tagged with the radioactive tracer. On the autoradio-graphs obtained, the blackening produced by the beta radiation exposure is measured by a microphotometer.nBy comparison of the photographic densities of the standard and the sample autoradiographs, taking into account the correction factors, a correlation is calculated, at first between photographic density and radioactivity of the tracer, then between photographic density and the concentration of the tagged constituent in the sample.
