摘要

The efficiency of deposition of pyrolytic carbon coatings on uranium monocar-bide particles has been shown to vary directly with the surface area of the bed and temperature of deposition, and inversely with increase in methane partial pressure and degree of fluidisation.nVariations of coating structure have been classified into five groups, four according to the degree of isotropy and the size of the grain structure observed, and the fifth by the absence of any visible structure. For the equipment used, the structure of the coatings was found to vary with the surface area of the charge, the temperature of coating, gas composition and the degree of fluidisation.
