摘要

There have been numerous investigations of the rate-controlling mechanism for deformation in neutron-irradiated face-centered cubic metals;there have been only a few preliminary experiments employing body-centered cubic metals. These experiments indicate that the neutron damage does not appear to change the rate-controlling mechanism for deformation in body-centered cubic metals. The reason for the absence of change is due to the intrinsic rate-controlling mechanism of body-centered cubic metals and the particular experimental conditions employed.nThese reasons are examined in detail and the probable experimental condition necessary for the observation of a detectable change in the rate-controlling mechanism is explored.
