摘要

In May of 1962, authorization from the U. S. AEC was received to design and develop fabrication techniques for a sodium-heated, modular, supercritical, steam generator;and, upon completion of the work, submit an interim report. The following report summarizes the engineering and design phases of the project.nAn IBM 7090 digital computer heat transfer code for a supercritical, once-through, sodium-heated, steam generator was developed. A water-side fouling factor was determined, based on published data. Detail designs of 37-tube and 61-tube modular steam generators were completed. Designs showing the installation of the modules, including their interconnecting piping, supporting structures, etc were completed and price estimates obtained. A reevaluation of previous economic studies continued to indicate cost savings resulting from the use of supercritical steam conditions.
