摘要

This report extends the design of the toroidal Scyllac device to include the capability for also energizing straight θ-pinch systems with lengths of up to 22 meters. The linear devices are to be energized by the energy storage supply of and in the same building as the toroidal device. This study presents a design of both a straight "parallel" device, in which the energy supply is connected in parallel to drive a single-turn compression coil, and a straight "series" apparatus in which each half of the energy supply is connected in series with the compression coil.
